The LION NanoLab is part of Leiden Institute of Physics from Leiden University, and hosts several Shared Facilities for nano-fabrication (e.g. thin film deposition, lithography, etching).
We work together with experimental physics research groups, a.o. the Lahabi Lab, the Bhattacharyya Lab, the Aarts Lab, the Van der Molen Lab, the Hensen Lab, the De Dood Lab and many more…
Since there is a lot to see here, let's list some cool pages:
Facilities
A page dedicated to all the shared facilities! Feel free to check it out!
Liquids
You probably know that we work with more liquids than just acetone, IPA and ethanol in the NanoLab. Do you want to know more about the other liquid chemicals? Visit this page!
Solids
Many people forget that solid chemicals include the metals of the thin films you deposit. Safety wise, it is always good to check out the MSDS and these Wiki-pages, but to prevent you from reinventing the wheel while figuring out how to deposit some tricky materials, there are some Wiki-pages about how to properly deposit these solids. (Examples are high quality superconducting NbNx and NbTiNx, ZrNx, and e-beam evaporated superconducting Nb.)
The NanoWiki is a system of webpages that functions as the backbone of the research done in the LION NanoLab. This 'living document' can be improved and extended by everyone who has an account and the proper permissions, such that it functions as an external memory of the lab.
As a user of the NanoLab, you are obliged to contribute to the NanoWiki, as this is the backbone of the research done here.
Its goal is to illuminate and communicate working research methods and recipes, improving reproducibility and preventing reinvention of the wheel.
